Sarah's project took place at the Tutt Branch Boys and Girls Club in Colorado Springs where she began as a floating volunteer in the after-school program and finished as head of the BGCA branch Arts and Crafts Program. Sarah was beloved and valued by her colleagues and mentees alike and hopes to be able to drop in on her friends and youth charges despite her increasingly demanding schedule. Now that Sarah has transitioned to alumna status, ITA looks forward to continuing to harvest her input and to helping her create mentoring opportunities wherever she ends up training and racing. The approach Sarah took to her project from the outset, and that ITA knows she will continue to bring to her intermittent work with today's youth, can be summed up in the intentions she set when she joined the Arena Roster. Sarah wrote: "Throughout the process, I hope to share my love for athletics and wellness, as well as valuable lessons of self-esteem, with the participants." ITA imagines that holds true today as much as it did lo those many years ago.
